YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN KILLED WALKING ON STATE ROUTE 62 LAST NIGHT

A Yucca Valley woman was hit and killed while walking last night. The County Coroner said Sunday night at 8:24 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call of a vehicle versus a pedestrian on State Hwy 62 and Scarvan Avenue, in Yucca Valley. Deputies arrived and found a 56-year-old white female resident of Yucca Valley with trauma to the head. The woman had been hit by a pickup truck traveling westbound on the highway, and was confirmed dead of her injuries at 8:32 p.m. The name of the decedent will be released pending next of kin notification. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the fatality.
