YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL MEETS TONIGHT, WE CHECK THE AGENDA

The Yucca Valley Town Council will meet in a regular meeting at 6:00 tonight. Among the items on the agenda, the council will hear a presentation about projects on the Marine base in Twentynine Palms, and will recognize its employees of the year. On the consent agenda, the council will amend its sex offender ordinance to comply with state law, and recognize the town’s finance department for its excellence in financial reporting. The council will then be asked to support Measure Y for the Hi-Desert Medical Center affiliation with Tenet Healthcare. Up next is a report from the Youth Commission, an update from public access television, and approve amendments to the 2014-15 budget, including an additional $3.9 million for the Sheriff’s contract with the town. Finally, the council will form an ad hoc committee to work with residents on an half-cent sales tax initiative. The meeting will be held in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
