YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL LOOKS AT A SALES TAX AND A LANDERS RODEO TONIGHT

A request for money for a rodeo in Landers, and discussion about putting a sales tax measure on the ballot this November are two of the items the Yucca Valley Town Council will discuss tonight. Managing editor Tami Roleff has the details…
The Yucca Valley Town Council meeting will start tonight with presentations by the Morongo Basin Transit Authority and the Regional Water Quality Control Board, along with an introduction of a new town employee. After a routine consent agenda, town staff will ask the council to support their recommendation to decline a request for funding to support a rodeo in Landers during the traditional Grubstake Days weekend. Staff will also ask the council to provide direction on priorities for community partnership grants. The Council will then consider the ad hoc committee’s recommendations for putting a sales tax measure on the ballot in November. The meeting starts at 6:00 in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
