YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL ALLOTS GRANTS, GETS DUMOSA STOPLIGHT UPDATE

The Yucca Valley Town Council met last night. Managing Editor Tami Roleff was there and breaks her report into two parts. Today, Part 1: block grants and traffic lights….
With little discussion from the council, and no public comment during its meeting last night, the Yucca Valley Town Council unanimously approved splitting its $113,000 community development block grant among improvements for Paradise Park, and the town’s code enforcement. Staff advised the council that requests for funding from Unity Home, Reach Out Morongo Basin, the library’s adult literacy program, and Family Services Association, are better served by allocations from the town’s general fund, which will be discussed at budget meetings this summer. The Council also learned that construction on the new traffic light at Dumosa Avenue will not begin until after the Presidents’ Day holiday. No left turns will be permitted during a 10-day period of the construction, which is expected to last two months. Tomorrow in part 2: the Sheriff’s safety report and mid-year budget review.
