YUCCA VALLEY PLANNING COMMISSION GETS UPDATE ON PRIVATE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

At its first meeting of 2015, the Yucca Valley Planning Commission heard an update on private land development projects within the town. The commissioners were informed that they will be presented with a site plan review at their January 27 meeting for the construction of a 7,700-square-foot multi-tenant building in front of the Home Depot. The building will include retail and quick-serve restaurants. Verizon hopes to install a 65-foot cell tower on Primrose Drive. The planning department is awaiting additional information from an applicant for a recycling center to be located at 4757 Old Woman Springs Road. Hawks Landing at Blue Skies Golf Course is awaiting a temporary certificate of occupancy from the county fire department. Under construction are 99-Cent Only store in the former Walmart building, and Ross Dress for Less in the former Rite Aid store. Four building permits have been issued for Mesquite 55 housing development, and 11 permits for Desert Vista Village.
