A 35-year-old Yucca Valley man was sentenced to life without parole on Wednesday for the rape of a 12-year-old Claremont girl last year. Joseph Davall broke into the girl’s home in March 2014 and sexually assaulted her in her bed while she was home alone. When he left, he took her phone and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. Davall was convicted of four charges of sexual assault, two burglary charges, and making criminal threats last month. Police linked Davall to the case through DNA. Claremont police staked out Davall’s home in the 7600 block of Joshua Lane in Yucca Valley in April 2014, and with the assistance of local Sheriff’s deputies, arrested him after a short pursuit.
