YUCCA VALLEY MAN CAUGHT HOT WIRING CAR

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Wednesday morning, after he was found trying to hot wire a car. According to a Sheriff’s report, about 8:40 a.m., a deputy found Forrest Jones, 22, in the driver’s seat of a 1997 Honda, trying to start the hot-wired vehicle with a pocket knife, in the 55300 block of Havasu Trail in Yucca Valley. The deputy arrested Jones at gunpoint. Jones denied stealing the vehicle, stating he had gotten it from a friend named “John” in Morongo Valley. Forrest Jones was arrested for investigation of possession of stolen property, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
