YUCCA VALLEY HOUSE FIRE DISPLACES FAMILY TUESDAY

A Yucca Valley family is displaced from their home following a fire Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters were called to the residence on the corner of Deer Trail and Navajo Trail at 1:22 p.m. County Fire Captain Darrel Feuerhahn said the fire started in a bedroom and also burned the bath, although the entire home suffered heavy smoke and water damage. The residents were not home at the time of the fire. Firefighters were able to rescue a dog, although the residents told firefighters most of the home’s contents, including many irreplaceable items, were lost in the fire. The fire was knocked down in about 10 minutes and residents arrived home shortly afterward. The Red Cross was notified and will be helping the residents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
