YUCCA VALLEY HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PAVEMENT WORK STARTS TOMORROW

The highway improvement project in Yucca Valley is nearing completion. The sidewalks, curbs, gutters, handicap ramps, and raised medians have all been completed. On Thursday and Friday, October 9 and 10, pavement work will begin, starting with the westbound outside lane, then the eastbound outside lane, before moving to the inside lanes. One lane in each direction will be closed Thursday night. The travel lanes will be ground down about 2 inches, and new pavement applied. Bad weather or equipment failure could delay completion of the project. The traffic light at Church Street is scheduled to be installed October 13 through October 15, with the light being turned on October 21.
