YUCCA VALLEY GETS 3.0 QUAKE

A minor earthquake centered in Yucca Valley hit shortly before 8:25 pm on Friday evening, January 17.  Preliminary reports measured the quake at a strength of 3.0, with the center located about a mile south of the town’s center, at a depth of 3 miles below the surface of the earth.  The coordinates given on an earthquake-reporting web site place the center below San Andreas Road.  (The actual San Andreas fault runs through the city of Desert Hot Springs.)

Definitely felt the earthquake, your reporting confirms our suspicion, we felt a short, no more than a few seconds rumble and sharp shake similar to that of ordinance going off on base.
