“YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN”—A HIT AT THEATRE 29—RUNNING THREE MORE WEEKS

With overflow seating and standing ovations, the latest offering from Theatre 29—Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein”—is keeping appreciative audiences laughing and delighted with the top-level music, comedy and shenanigans on the community theater stage. “Young Frankenstein” is a wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend based on Mel Brooks’ classic 1974 comedy film masterpiece. The story follows bright young Dr. “Fronkensteen” as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life. With scary and hilarious complications the show remains true to the humorous and irreverent spirit of the original film with outstanding performances, which includes such memorable tunes as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend” and the famous “Puttin’ On The Ritz.” Theatre 29 has overflow seating so more seats can be added even if the online listing says it is sold out. Overflow seating is not guaranteed., “Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein” will run Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m. through November 1 with a matinee Sunday, October 26 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.theatre29.org, or by calling the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-366-8471. Tickets are $12 for regular admission, $10 for seniors and military and $8 for students with ID. With some mature themes, the show is not suitable for children under 13.
