YMIA TO HOST STARRY NIGHTS FESTIVAL

Andromeda Society and the Yucca Mesa Improvement Association will host the 17th Annual Starry Nights Festival September 27 and 28, at its new location: The Yucca Mesa Improvement Association’s Community Center at 3133 Balsa Avenue, Yucca Valley, north of Aberdeen Drive. The event is free. Festivities will kick-off at 6 p.m. Friday, September 27, with a potluck dinner, followed by star-gazing and telescope viewing into the night. Saturday will start with a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be speakers, a telescope clinic, a bake sale, activities for the kids, and solar telescopes for any who want to see the sun.
