Two women suffered minor injuries in a Friday morning crash east of Joshua Tree. About 7:30, a gray Acura and a white Toyota Corona crashed in the eastbound lane of Highway 62 near Sunkist Avenue. The white Toyota ended up on the driver’s side, against a utility pole. The two women inside the Toyota managed to climb out of the car, with help from a bystander, and were waiting for Joshua Tree paramedics when they arrived. They were taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
