TWO JOSHUA TREE MEN ARRESTED FOR CHILD MOLESTATION

Two 38-year-old men were arrested Tuesday afternoon, accused of having sex with three minor girls, between the ages of 16 and 17. According to a Sheriff’s press release, administrators at Yucca Valley High School were notified about potential sexual abuse of a female juvenile. School officials immediately notified the Sheriff’s Department who obtained a search warrant for the home of Sean Turner and Maurice Lewis, of the 6700 block of Park Boulevard in Joshua Tree. Evidence recovered at the scene supported the allegations, and Sean Turner was arrested for investigation of three different sex crimes with juvenile girls. On Wednesday, detectives obtained a warrant and arrested Maurice Lewis at an apartment in the 62200 block of Verbenia Avenue in Joshua Tree, for investigation of the same three sex crimes with minors. Both Sean Turner and Maurice Lewis were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with their bail set at $50,000 each. Maurice Lewis was also arrested in March for burglarizing a Joshua Tree home while dressed in women’s clothing, wearing a mask and carrying a samurai sword.
