TWO INCIDENTS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Sunday morning, accused of hitting his wife. According to a Sheriff’s report, Don Simmons, 49, of the 4500 block of Adobe Road, started arguing with his wife about 2:30 a.m., and hit her with a mop. After an investigation, Don Simmons was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
 
A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday, accused of beating up his girlfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, Juan Ruiz, 32, of the 73800 block of Desert Trail Drive, slapped and punched his girlfriend five or six times in the face, and gave her a split lip. The woman also told deputies he bit her in the middle of her back, and that she hit her head on a doorknob. After an investigation, Juan Ruiz was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
