TWO ARRESTED IN YUCCA VALLEY ON DRUG AND WEAPONS CHARGES

Two Yucca Valley men were arrested Friday morning, accused of possessing drugs and a stolen gun. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Wilson, a deputy stopped a vehicle at Cibola Trail and Papago Trail in Yucca Valley about 11 a.m. for having an expired registration. During the investigation, deputies determined that Michael Dennison, 24, and Christian Usher, 24, were in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Wilson said deputies also located a loaded firearm in a backpack belonging to Dennison. A records check revealed the gun was stolen in Yucca Valley last December. Michael Dennison was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with a loaded firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000. Christian Usher was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, cited and released.
