TWO ARRESTED IN TWENTYNINE PALMS FOR STEALING FROM CARS

More information about a story we ran Tuesday after a Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday morning, accused of possession of stolen property. Thursday, November 12, a resident in the 7000 block of 49 Palms Avenue reported that her credit and debit cards had been stolen from her vehicle parked in her driveway. The victim learned her stolen credit card had been used at a Twentynine Palms store earlier in the day. Deputy Anthony Alcala viewed the store video and recognized one of the subjects using the stolen credit card as Arshawn Wilson, 31, of Twentynine Palms. Wilson was not home, but Alcala located evidence at the home related to several recent thefts from vehicles. Alcala returned to 6525 49 Palms Avenue with a search warrant. During the search, property from several recent vehicle break-ins, and evidence linking Arshawn Wilson and Jeremy Shannon to the thefts, was found. Arshawn Wilson was found nearby about 11 p.m. Thursday and arrested for investigation of possession of narcotics and possession of stolen property. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and later released on a citation as required by Proposition 47. Jeremy Shannon, 23, of Twentynine Palms, was arrested later that night at Tortoise Rock Casino for violating the terms of his parole. He is being held on an outstanding warrant with no bail.
