TWO ARRESTED FOR BREAKING INTO A JOSHUA TREE HOME

Two men were arrested early Saturday morning after they broke into a home in Joshua Tree. According to a Sheriff’s report, a neighbor called 911 about 1:15 a.m. to report that someone had broken into a home in the 61700 block of Oleander Drive. He said he saw lights on in the vacant home and heard a door slam. After an investigation, a deputy determined that Matthew Morrow, 45, of Joshua Tree, and Leon Dowd, 53, of Yucca Valley, had kicked in the home’s front door and then smoked methamphetamine inside the house. The deputy’s report states that Morrow said he was being paid to give away all the furniture in the home and to paint the interior of the residence. Matthew Morrow and Leon Dowd were arrested for suspicion of burglary, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with their bail set at $25,000 each.
