TWENTYNINE PALMS WOMAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING ROOMMATE’S WALLET

A Twentynine Palms woman was arrested Tuesday after her roommate accused her of stealing her wallet. According to a Sheriff’s report, the victim, who lives in the 71500 block of Chiverton Lane, left her purse on the back of her bedroom door when she went to bed Monday night. When she woke up Tuesday, she discovered her wallet, containing her credit cards and a substantial amount of cash, were missing. After an investigation, the victim’s wallet—minus the cash—was found in the bedroom of her roommate, identified as Christina West, 23. Christina West was arrested on suspicion of grand theft, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
