Last night, the Twentynine Palms Water District Board of Directors approved the budget for the 2015-2016 fiscal year at nearly $3.6 million. Board President Sam Moore then announced, “And now for the big one,” before naming Ray Kolisz as the new general manager for the water district, with an annual salary of $136,000. The fire department also approved their 2015-2016 budget, added a new stipend for volunteers fire fighters of $20 for each training class attended and approved a $2,700 facility use agreement for this fiscal year with Copper Mountain College.
