TWENTYNINE PALMS TEEN UNHAPPY OVER CHRISTMAS GIFT, SLASHES TIRES

A Twentynine Palms teenager, who was unhappy over his Christmas gift, slashed the tires of his parents’ truck and tried to run them over about 1 p.m. Christmas Day. According to a Sheriff’s report, the boy, whose identity is being withheld due to his age, was upset that he only received $100, and not the $400 he wanted. The report states that after arguing with his parents he slashed all four tires on a 2011 Ford F150 pickup truck—stabbing them 28 times with an unknown object—and then tried to run over his parents when he left his home in the 6900 block of Stardune Avenue. The boy was cited for vandalism and released to the custody of his parents.
