TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF CHILD MOLESTATION

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Saturday, accused of sexually molesting a girl. According to a Sheriff’s report, the girl’s mother discovered the molestation, and went to a home in the 73800 block of Two Mile Road in Twentynine Palms about noon on Saturday to confront the suspect, identified as Mark Hasenpflug, 54. When the woman arrived, an unidentified woman answered the door, and the girl’s mother punched her in the face and pushed her into a door, causing the woman to hit her head on the door. Investigating deputies arrested Mark Hasenpflug on suspicion of child molestation, booked him at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $250,000. Deputies will forward a report to the district attorney’s office on whether the girl’s mother will be charged with assault.
