TWENTYNINE PALMS LITTLE LEAGUE PLAYING IN STATE PLAYOFFS

The Twentynine Palms Little League minor division Ladycats 9- and 10-year olds, the District 58 and Section 9 champions won their first game at the state tournament held in Lancaster. They faced the combined representative of Section 6 and 7 from Oceanside Valley. Coach Ronda Locket-Morton said they bounced back from a five-run deficit to mercy their opponent by a score of 18-8.  Leah Engesser and Gabby Wunderlee combined 5-for-5, supported by the outstanding base running of their teammates. Their next game is today at 8:00 p.m.

Twentynine Palms Little League also has two other teams battling in their All- Stars tournaments. The AA Machine Pitch Baseball Dirt Devils eliminated Tri-Valley Blue in Desert Hot Springs 13-10, and will play tomorrow at 5:30 at Wardman Park. The senior softball team will begin their state tournament in Colton on Friday.
