TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR AWARDED CMC GREENLEAF SCHOLARSHIP

A Twentynine Palms High School senior was chosen to receive the Copper Mountain College Foundation’s Greenleaf scholarship. The scholarship will pay for Aiden Smith’s tuition, books, fees, and living expenses while he is a student at Copper Mountain College, and will follow Aiden when he transfers to a four-year school for his bachelor’s degree. Endowed by local banker F. Roy Greenleaf Jr., the scholarship is awarded each year to a promising student that is interested in learning, is success-oriented, has performed successfully in school, and shows a desire to return to the
Morongo Basin upon completion of his or her education. The three finalists were Madeline Aiken and Sierra Bailey from Yucca Valley High School; and Kelly Christensen from Twentynine Palms High School. Each finalist received a $500 check.
