TWENTYNINE PALMS CLINCHES JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

In Junior Team Tennis, Stars Division action May 10, Twentynine Palms clinched the league championship with a win over the Morongo Valley “Smurfs,” 26 games to 22, at Covington Park. Twentynine Palms was also 2012 league champs. In other Stars Division action, Yucca Valley #1 defeated Yucca Valley #2, 27 games to 21, at Jacobs Park in Yucca Valley, to clinch second place in the league. “This year, the Stars Division teams were closely matched which resulted in highly competitive, fun matches,” said Twentynine Palms Coach Joe Ingram, adding, “Sportsmanship and camaraderie were displayed by the players, coaches and parents throughout the season.”
