TELESCOPE WORKSHOP AT SKY’S THE LIMIT SATURDAY

Need some help repairing or setting up that telescope that has been sitting in your closet? Reporter Rebecca Havely says bring it to Sky’s the Limit this Saturday…
Would be astronomers, dust off your old telescope and join the Sky’s the Limit telescope workshop on Saturday, July 25, from 8:30 p.m. till midnight. If you have an old or a new telescope and would like to learn how to mount it, set it up and operate it this workshop is for you. You may also join the stargazing group if you do know how to use your scope. If you’re willing to let novices have a peek through your scope it is always greatly appreciated. The moon is an easy first target for new astronomers and on July 25 the first quarter moon will be bright making it easier to navigate new equipment. Saturn will be prominent in the southern sky as well as five major constellations. At all viewing events a variety of types and sizes of telescopes for you to gaze through are set up along winding sidewalks. Volunteer assistants are always on hand as well. There’s no fee for this workshop but Sky’s the Limit greatly appreciates any donations. Dress for unpredictable desert weather and bring snacks, bottled waters, small flashlights, binoculars and chairs.
