TEENS FACE MORE RULES TO GET DRIVER’S LICENSE

The process of getting a first-time driver’s license is getting more complicated for teens. ROP Broadcast Student Jacob Seidschlag outlines the requirements….
If you want to obtain your first driver’s license, you must first have a permit according to the DMV of California. To be eligible, you must be 15 and a half or older. To obtain a permit, you have to go to your local DMV and fill out your information. You must also complete a driver’s education class. After having your permit for six months, completed six hours of driving training, completed 50 hours of practice with an adult 25 years or older, 10 of which have to be at night time, you can take your driving test. You will have three chances to pass it. If you fail, you will have to wait two weeks before you can try again. After you pass, you will be given an interim license valid for 90 days until you get your official license.
