SUSPECTED DRUNK DRIVER HITS TWO CARS, HELD BY WITNESSES

A suspected drunk driver was arrested Monday morning after he hit two vehicles and attempted to flee. According to a Sheriff’s report, Alberto Jimenez, 54, of the 4300 block of Inez Avenue, was driving his silver Plymouth Voyager northbound on Acoma Trail about 10:30 a.m. when he collided with a 5th-wheel travel trailer at Onaga Trail. The reports states Jimenez fled the scene and collided with a mini van near the intersection of Acoma and Highway 62. Witnesses prevented Jimenez from leaving until deputies arrived. No one was injured in either of the crashes. Deputies determined Jimenez had a warrant for his arrest for public intoxication. Alberto Jimenez was arrested on his warrant and for investigation of driving under the influence. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held on his $25,000 warrant.
