Applications for Theater 29’s summer youth program are now available. The program—which will run Monday through Friday, July 6 through July 30—culminates with live performances of Disney’s “Peter Pan Jr.” Juniors (ages 7-12) will meet from 10 till noon daily; seniors (ages 12-17) from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Students will receive instruction in a wide variety of theatrical skills, including auditioning, acting, singing for musical theater, choreography, costuming, make-up, backstage skills, set construction, lighting, sound, and box office management. All students receive the Disney’s Peter Pan Jr. script, music CD, a program T-shirt, a final cast pizza party with performance CD’s made available. Most importantly, they’ll gain friends, memories and skills to last a lifetime! The course cost is $60 per student. Applications will be available only at www.theatre29.org, the Twentynine Palms Park and Recreation offices, the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Z107.7 studios in Joshua Tree, as of May 11, and must be turned in by mail only by June 5. Payment in full is due by June 19.
