SPECIAL LECTURE AT HI-DESERT NATURE MUSEUM TOMORROW

Learn about an early “Indiana Jones” at a special lecture at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley tomorrow evening. Reporter Caitlin Logan has details.
Morongo Basin Historical Society presents “The Life and Times of Archaeologist Mark Harrington – an early Indiana Jones”. John Hale, Ph.D. from the Marine Air and Ground Combat Center in 29 Palms will discuss the contributions of archaeologist Mark Harrington during the early decades of the 20th Century in the Southwest and California. Harrington discovered the Gypsum Culture as well as excavated at Nevada’s Lost City and uncovered intact duck decoys at Lovelock Cave in Humboldt County, Nevada. The lecture is on October 8, from 5:30 to 6:30, and held at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley.
