SHERIFF’S PROACTIVE PATROL NETS SEVEN ARRESTS

Two people were arrested Monday morning when drugs were found in their vehicle following a routine traffic stop in Yucca Valley. About 10:30, a deputy stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Primrose Drive and Airway Avenue. The vehicle’s owner, Cheryl Dvoracek, 26, was found to have two no-bail warrants for probation violations. Cheryl Dvoracek was arrested, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without bail. Also in the vehicle was Michael Blundell, 44. During a search, Blundell was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Michael Blundell was cited and released.

In addition to these two arrests, deputies made several other arrests Monday during proactive patrol and problem-oriented policing during traffic stops, pedestrian checks, probation compliance checks, security checks of vacant homes, and business checks. Gonzalo Diaz, 43, of Yucca Valley, was arrested for investigation of panhandling at Church Street and Highway 62; Robert Minjarez, 41, of Yucca Valley, was arrested in the 7100 block of Sage Avenua on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies made a traffic stop at Onaga and Quail Run and arrested Marci Brown, 32, and Luis Aguilar, 40, both of Yucca Valley, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and on a warrant, respectively; Jason Brown, 33, of Joshua Tree, was arrested for investigation of possession of methamphetamine; and Jeremy Vaught, 34, also of Joshua Tree, was arrested for having an open container. The Sheriff’s Department says the primary focus of Problem-Oriented Policing is quality-of-life issues that affect residents who live, work, and visit Yucca
