SHERIFFS LOOK FOR SUSPECT IN FIVE JOSHUA TREE AREA BURGLARIES

No-BurglarSheriff’s deputies are searching for at least one suspect after five Joshua Tree residents reported their homes and vehicles were burglarized Friday and Saturday nights. Residents in the 6600 block of Sierra Avenue, 61500 block of Desert Air Road, and 62000 block of Grand View Circle said their vehicles were burglarized Friday night, and were missing cash, checks, and miscellaneous items. Sometime before 10 p.m. Saturday, someone cut the lock to a fence and drove a vehicle inside the yard of a home in the 61100 block of Trentwood Drive, but the resident believes the suspect was scared off by a burglar alarm. About 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, a resident in the 6400 block of Valley View Street went out to investigate a noise in the carport and scared off a burglar who was rummaging around in a storage area. The suspect stole some tools and model cars, but left a backpack behind with identification inside, and the resident positively identified the suspect from a photo line-up provided by the investigating deputy. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
