SHERIFF ASKING FOR HELP IN FINDING MISSING ALZHEIMERS PATIENT

A man who has gone missing twice before is missing again, and the Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in finding this critical missing person. Oscar Nava, 75, walked away from his residence in the 7400 block of Church Street in Yucca Valley on Monday, May 12, and was reported missing by his family on May 14.

Nava is described as a Hispanic male, although he appears Caucasian. He is 6 feet tall, has gray hair and brown eyes, and weighs 160 pounds. Nava has a Mickey Mouse tattoo on his right leg just above the ankle. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap with a green jacket, a beige, long-sleeve button-up style shirt, white undershirt, blue jeans, and tan work boots. Nava is physically healthy but has Alzheimer’s disease. Nava has gone missing on two prior occasions. On the first occasion, he was located in Glamis by law enforcement. The second time was just seven weeks ago when he left his vehicle in Yucca Valley and walked to Morongo Valley where his wallet was located. He was eventually located at JFK Hospital in Indio.
