SECOND ARMED ROBBERY IN A WEEK IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a second armed robbery in Twentynine Palms in less than a week. About 7 p.m. Sunday, an armed man walked in to the liquor store in the Historic Plaza, demanded cash, and tried to make the clerk walk into the back room, but the clerk ran out of the store and called 911. The suspect is described as a black male, 25-30 years old, wearing a green sweater, black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and wearing a black bandana across his face. Last Tuesday, the Adobe Smoke Shop was robbed by an armed black man who was described as being in his 20s to 30s, 200 pounds, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, and was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt and black jeans. Detectives do not know if the two armed robberies are linked. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
