SCHOOL BOARD TO REVISE SUSPENSION AND EXPULSION POLICY

Revision of the suspension and expulsion policy will be the main topic at the Morongo Unified School District Board of Education meeting tonight. Dan Stork tells what else will be going on…

The Morongo Unified School District Board of Education begins its August 20 meeting with a 5 p.m. workshop on revisions to the policy on suspensions and expulsions, upon which the Board will vote in the 7 p.m. open session. Other action items in the 7 p.m. session are creation of a subfund for accounting purposes of the Joshua Tree Elementary construction project, ratification of 2013 graduates, and adoption of a college prep biology course outline. The 6 p.m. closed session sandwiched between the public meetings deals with student reentries, anticipated litigation, collective bargaining, and an unspecified issue relating to dismissal, discipline, or release of a public employee. The meeting will be held at the new Joshua Tree Elementary School, at 4950 Sunburst Drive.
