The Full Moon race time is at 7 p.m., rain or shine, at Machris Park, 59100 Santa Barbara Drive in Yucca Valley. This 5K run (which is 3.1 miles) will be held on a challenging and beautiful loop course through one of Yucca Valley’s most scenic residential areas. A brochure including a map of the course is available at the Yucca Valley Community Center. Awards will be presented as the full moon rises to the top male and female overall winners and the top three male and female winners in each age category. Registration fees range from $13 to $20, according to age group, and whether you want a commemorative T-shirt or not. Registration forms are available at the Community Center and on-site at the race beginning at 6:00 p.m. You can return a completed entry form and registration fee to the Community Services Office at the Yucca Valley Community Center, 57090 Twentynine Palms Highway, Monday through Thursday from noon to 5:30 p.m. On-line registration is available at www.yucca-valley.org; click on Residents, then Program Registration, and search for “5k run.” For more information, call the Community Services Department at 760-369-7211.
