YUCCA VALLEY ROADWORK TO BEGIN THIS MONDAY
Major road work begins Monday in the Town of Yucca Valley. Paved roads in Western Hills in Yucca Valley will receive road maintenance slurry seal from July 13 through July 23. The contractor will provide notice to residences and businesses that are likely to be affected by the maintenance project. Slurry seal is a mixture of asphalt, fine aggregate, mineral filler, and water, and is used to fill cracks and seal areas of old pavement. Slurry seal preserves the existing pavement and prevents the asphalt road from deteriorating to the point that road reconstruction is necessary.
CALTRANS CONSTRUCTION ON OLD WOMAN SPRINGS ROAD
CalTrans has announced that Highway 247—Old Woman Springs Road—will be under construction next week. Both north- and southbound lanes will be under construction from El Cortez Road to Handley Road from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning.
