REMEMBER YOUR PETS ARE COLD TOO

The cold weather has arrived. ROP Broadcast student Allison McNally reminds you that it is cold for your pets, too…
As the weather cools down, it becomes more important to take precautions to protect your pets. According to The Humane Society of the United States, its best that you keep your pets inside as much as possible. During walks, short haired dogs may feel more comfortable wearing a sweater. If your pet must spend time outside, protect them by providing a dog house big enough for them to sit and lay comfortably but small enough to hold in body heat. During the winter, provide your pets more food, as it takes more energy to keep themselves warm. Make sure their water is fresh and unfrozen. If you see an animal left out in the cold, alert the owners about your concerns and if they don’t respond well, contact your local county sheriff’s office.
