REGIONAL WATER BOARD MEETS LOCALLY TONIGHT ON SEPTIC PROHIBITION DEADLINE

The California Regional Water Quality Control Board will hold a workshop about the revised deadlines for Yucca Valley’s septic tank discharge prohibition. Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions about and provide comments on the board’s revision of the deadline to 2021 for the septic tank discharge prohibition in phase 1, and to 2025 for phases 2 and 3. The workshop is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 4, at the Hi-Desert Water District office at Inca Trail and the Highway in Yucca Valley. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that staff of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Colorado River Basin Region (Regional Water Board) will hold a Public Workshop to discuss the Proposed Amendment to Revise the Yucca Valley Septic Tank Discharge Prohibition of the Water Quality Control Plan for the Colorado River Basin Region. The schedule for the Public Workshop on this matter is provided below.
The purpose of the Workshop is to provide affected stakeholders and other interested persons an additional opportunity to ask questions about and provide comments on the proposed amendment. During the Workshop, Regional Water Board staff will provide an overview of the key proposed changes to the Prohibition, be available to answer questions about the proposed changes, and take comments on the proposed amendment. The Workshop is scheduled as follows:
