PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE AWES LOCAL RESIDENTS

From local schools, National Park Service, Sky’s the Limit and more, hundreds of local residents gathered to safely view a partial solar eclipse visible in our Morongo Basin yesterday. Starting at 2:07, the moon traveled between the Earth and the sun, and cast its shadow on the sun. In the Morongo Basin, roughly 40 percent of the sun was eclipsed. The maximum eclipse was at 3:27, and ended at 4:52. Pictures of the eclipse taken by our own Tami Roleff are in this story at www.z1077fm.com.
