BoxoHouse will hold an open house and reception for its artist-in-residence Saturday afternoon. Olivia Parkes is a British-American artist who works primarily with painting and collage to explore how culture affects experiences. During her residency at BoxoHouse, Parkes created art related to the myth of the Old West as portrayed by the entertainment industry. The month-long residency has included screenings of classic Western movies and related discussions, and culminates with the open house exhibition and reception. The reception will be Saturday, March 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. BoxoHouse is located at 62732 Sullivan Road in Joshua Tree.
