ONE HOSPITALIZED, ONE ARRESTED, AFTER FIGHT IN YUCCA VALLEY THURSDAY NIGHT

One man was hospitalized, and a second man arrested, following a violent fight in Yucca Valley yesterday. According to Sheriff’s reports, Christopher Benjamin, 23, of Yucca Valley, was arguing with his girlfriend about 9:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of Hermosa Avenue in Yucca Valley. A group of men heard the argument and came over; some of them had weapons. Benjamin grabbed a metal pole and hit a 25-year-old man from Yucca Valley over the head with it twice, splitting his head open. For unknown reasons, the victim walked off to a parked Ford van on Barrow Avenue where he was found by paramedics and taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. Christopher Benjamin was booked for assault with a deadly weapon at West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000.
