ONE ARREST AFTER AN UNRULY TWENTYNINE PALMS CITY COUNCIL MEETING

A routine Twentynine Palms City Council meeting turned unruly Tuesday evening. The city council held a special session for a second hearing of its new ordinance that bans medical marijuana within city limits. City manager Frank Luckino said that when it became obvious that city council members were going to pass the ordinance, some members of the audience became very passionate in their objections. After the vote, Daniel Gonzalez, 19, of Yucca Valley, pushed on and shook a locked door in what deputies said was an angry manner until the door shattered and he fell through the glass. Gonzalez received superficial cuts to his right hand and was treated at the scene. Daniel Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of vandalism, booked at the Morongo Basin jail, and released.
