170 MILLION $, 274 ACRE TRAINING AREA OPENS ABOARD MARINE BASE
A massive, $170 million dollar, 274 acre mock city officially opened aboard the 29 Palms Marine Base yesterday. The training area is an extension of Mojave Viper, a smaller but similar area aboard the base since 2005. It’s sheer size allows as many as 15,000 marines and sailors to train simultaneously.
