NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT COMING TO YUCCA VALLEY COMMUNITY CENTER

New playground equipment is scheduled to be installed at the Yucca Valley Community Center this summer. The Town Council recently awarded a $188,000 contract for replacement of existing playground equipment which no longer complies with state safety standards. The project is funded through Community Development Block Grants through the County. The sand playground surface will be replaced with a woodchip surface to enhance accessibility and improve safety. The work is scheduled to begin late this month, and should be complete by early September. The Town and the contractor are working to minimize delays and access difficulties to the greatest extent feasible. As with any project, changes in schedules may be necessary.
