NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AT JACOB’S PARK IN YUCCA VALLEY

The new playground equipment project at Jacob’s Park was recently completed. Using more than $89,000 in Community Development Block Grants, the old playground equipment was replaced. In addition, wood chips replaced the sand for improved disability access. The playground equipment is designed for both the 2-to-5 and 5-to-12 year-old age groups. A new swing apparatus was installed south of the new playground equipment, where the former 2- to-5 year old playground apparatus was located. A ribbon cutting ceremony for Jacob’s Park, located on Onaga Trail at Hopi Trail, will be held at 5 p.m. June 16.
