NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY

National Park admission is free today, to celebrate the birthday of the National Park system. Ranger Pam Tripp says there’s another free day next month…

On Saturday, September 28, our nation celebrates National Public Lands Day. Volunteer groups will participate in a variety of projects that benefit our shared heritage. Preservation of public land for the benefit of all is a true expression of democracy in action. Joshua Tree National Park invites local residents and groups such as Boy and Girl Scouts, church groups, social and business clubs and other interested groups, to join in the fun. By working together toward a shared goal, we all can benefit from long-term use and enjoyment of these precious lands. Participants will receive a coupon good for a “fee-free” day at any national park or federal agency site, as well as a heartfelt thank you and a colorful poster. Entrance fees for all park visitors will be waived on September 28th. For further information, contact George Land at 760-367-5507. For Z107.7, this is Park Ranger Pam Tripp, reminding you visit your neighborhood national park.
