NATIONAL JUNIOR TENNIS AND LEARNING RETURNS

The Morongo Basin Tennis Association’s six-week, 2013 National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) will start July 2, at Jacobs Park, in Yucca Valley. The summer schedule is: July 2 through August 8, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 to 10 a.m. Sign up on-site with the Morongo Basin Tennis Association, 760-365-3851. The NJTL is for boys and girls, ages 8 through 17, novice or intermediate. It features 24 hours of tennis instruction, a free T-shirt, certificate of participation, a tennis racquet on loan if needed, the opportunity to participate in various activities and win awards. The program provides instruction with an emphasis in learning the basic tennis skills, having fun and sportsmanship. “The fee for the whole program is only $10 per player,” said Gideon Smith, president of the Morongo Basin Tennis Association. “NJTL provides an environment in which juniors can gain tennis experience and personal growth.”
