A large quantity of pain pills were reported stolen from an assisted living facility in Yucca Valley. Shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday, investigators were called to the Santa Fe Assisted Living Facility in the 55400 block of Santa Fe Trail where employees said between 100 and 200 hydrocodone pills were missing from a locked medicine cabinet. Only 12 staff members have access to the medication, which is secured by a key. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft.
