MUSICAL, “MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD” CAST AT THEATRE 29

Veteran Theater 29 director Charles Harvey is proud to announce the cast of “The Mystery of Edwin Drood.” The role of Chairman William Cartwright, the troupe’s leader and show narrator, went to Leonard Weber. As the nefarious John Jasper is Scott Clinkscales. As his young nephew and title character, Edwin Drood, the gender-bending role is portrayed by Desert Theatre League Award winning actress Virginia Sulick. In the role of the innocent ingénue, Rosa Bud, is Erin Keeran. The mysterious twins will be played by Chris Fleischman and Katie Van Sumeren. Reverend Crisparkle will be portrayed by Cyrus Short. The opium-hawking Princess Puffer, is Char Childs. The drunken gravedigger Durdles is played by Dennis “Easy” Boos. His son, Deputy, is played by newcomer Cody Whitaker. The eternal understudy Bazzard is portrayed by Andrew Whitaker. The ensemble includes Jasmine Shaffer, Amanda Winters, Barry Inscore, Carin-Rae Conner, Allison McNally, Marcus Motamedi and Kylie Robinson.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood will run Friday and Saturday evenings from May 29 through June 27, with Sunday matinees on June 7 and 21. Tickets are available now at theatre29.org, by calling the Box Office at 760-361-4151. Tickets are also available via the Walletini app through Google Play and I-Tunes App Store, through the “Buy Ticket” button on Theatre 29’s Facebook page or by scanning the QR code embedded on show posters at businesses across the City of Twentynine Palms.
